- Action Plan Resource Request Rubric
On March 11, the committee discussed and developed the rubric that will be used to evaluate innovation action plans. The rubric currently contains a set of criteria by which we evaluate each plan. Each plan will be graded against four areas: BHCC Goals, Link to Department Goals, Promotes Student Success, and Consequence for Not Funding. Each criterion is then stated in several different levels of completion. A score of 1 - 4 is used for each level. Level 1 gets a score of "1"; level 2 gets a score of "2"; level 3 gets a score of "3" and level 4 gets a score of "4". "1" is the lowest score and "4" is the highest score. Plans that receive high scores will be recommended for final evaluation and approval by the executive decision making team.
We have posted the draft rubric as a Google Doc for you to make edits as you see fit. We have also uploaded the rubric as a Word document if you do not use Google docs. Please note: You cannot make live edits to the Word document. We have also added a Discussion tab to allow for discussions to occur related to this topic.
- Long Range Planning Calendar
The college is on a six year planning cycle. The six year planning cycle is divided into two, three year mid-term strategic objectives. These strategic objectives are aligned to one or more of the seven college goals:
1. Create Pathways and Partnerships to Promote Student Success
2. Demonstrate Strength Through Diversity
3. Develop and Cultivate College-Wide Sustainability Initiatives
4. Expand Technology Throughout the College
5. Foster Wellness, Growth and Lifelong Learning
6. Identify and Close Workforce Gaps
7. Institute a Culture of Evidence and Accountability
The three-year mid-term planning is further divided into one year units called short-term annual unit planning. Each year is divided into two cycles: spring semester and fall semester. Annually, unit managers are responsible to have a dialogue with their staff members about goals and resource needs for their departments. Taking that information culled from these internal department discussions, the managers are then able to complete their annual unit plans. This calendar give you a broad view of how the college has organized itself to plan in the short, mid and long-term ranges. This is how planning is rolled up.
